About Dunedin Wind Band
Dunedin Wind Band was formed in May 2006, creating a relaxed, fun, friendly band for wind players of all ages and abilities. The band has now grown to approximately 50 members, normally taking part in rehearsals and concerts.
Information about you: how we use it and with whom we share it
Please note that the information you provide, and how we use it, will depend on your level of engagement with us but it may be used by Dunedin Wind Band:
- To administer your involvement in Dunedin Wind Band (including our events).
- To provide you with information and updates about Dunedin Wind Band and our events.
- To promote Dunedin Wind Band (for example, use of pictures and videos).
- To inform you of information, activities and events that may support your interest in music and community bands.
We are using information about you because it is in your, and our, legitimate interest for us to do so. By processing your information, Dunedin Wind Band can liaise with you directly to administer your involvement in Dunedin Wind Band (including our events) and to support your interest in music and community bands. We will only retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for.
Information about you may be shared with:
- Our Musical Director.
We will hold the personal data you provided us for the timescales outlined in our retention schedule below:
|Duration Data will be Retained
|Band member: data collected upon joining and throughout membership with band.
|For the duration in which you are a member of Dunedin Wind Band. When a band member choses to leave the band, their data will be held for a maximum of one year following their exit from the band as we will review all data held on members at least once every year.
|Other data collected: for example, those who sign-up to Dunedin Wind Band’s general mailing list.
|We will review all data held on non-members at least every two years and remove data where we no longer have legitimate reason to keep it.
We do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes.

Dunedin Wind Band events may be photographed and filmed for future promotional use by Dunedin Wind Band and organisations involved in Dunedin Wind Band events (for example, charities we support). We will use this content on the basis of our legitimate interest to record and promote our work. We will inform you that we will be capturing and using your image. If you do not want to be photographed or filmed during our activities, please contact Dunedin Wind Band at email@example.com to let us know.
